The women have marched and now it’s the turn of the menfolk to get all riled up.
Emerging designers at New York Men’s Day launched Men’s Fashion Week yesterday with a roar of rebellion. It made for quite a charged affair in the event’s new downtown location, Dune Studios, in the midst of the Financial District. Wall Street’s bankers and CEOs out grabbing lunch, looked askance at the parade of peacocks flouncing by wearing red wristbands and holding phones aloft on permanent camera setting.
One of those placards would have been my must-have item as I was racing off afterwards to catch a rally in the East Village.
