London on a Whim

I was missing it severely. So while home for New Year, I hopped on a cheapo Ryanair flight and reacquainted myself with some old haunts and favorite spots. Some things stay the same (my favorite vintage store is still there, hanging on.) Many things are different (Patisserie Valerie is a chain! My old school is now luxury loft apartments!)

But one thing remains certain: London inspires me.

Here’s a wee glimpse…IMG_9744IMG_9934 IMG_9880 IMG_9928 IMG_9926 IMG_9855 IMG_9847 IMG_9840 IMG_9816 IMG_9889IMG_9836 IMG_9930 IMG_9911 IMG_9897 IMG_9925 IMG_9818 IMG_9803 IMG_9811 IMG_9804 IMG_9805 IMG_9754 IMG_9790 IMG_9788IMG_9921 IMG_9899 IMG_9849

  1. God I love it! And Bar Italia is still there…way back when, way before coffee was cool, it used to be the only place where to get a vaguely drinkable espresso….some of those vintage shoes look amazing. Did you buy?

    • I love it too! I did, I bought a lures dress in a vintage store called Blackout II which I’ve been wearing continually in honor of Bowie ๐Ÿ™‚ But Yes, London is pretty/ I have memories too of Bar Italia ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Oh, you, lucky-lucky girl! Good idea! Were you able to catch up with Kate, too? I’m missing Europe, but with elderly family its hard to get away when the trips go to them. Perhaps, Greece in the Spring or the Nordic countries in the Fall. Sigh. We will see. XO

    • It was so fleeting I only contacted one good friend and saw her the last night. It was more a trip about being with myself. I like to isolate myself sometimes and London was very accommodating ๐Ÿ™‚
Your plans are enviable. Hope it pans out xo

  3. Next time let us know….would be great to meet up!! London always inspiring and thankfully only an hour from my humble abode xx

    • Oh, I so would! I never thought. It would have been lovely to see you. Next time for sure. How come you don’t’ blog no more. dearie..? Always meant to askโ€ฆ

      • …just got out of habit really. I think I enjoy reading others more than writing my own and when time is my own I prefer to be designing and making rather than talking about it. Enjoy your snow…. Xx

  4. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for the pictures. It was fun traveling to London with you! I really enjoyed it!
Back home in NY now? xo ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. You can burrow your way into my suitcase any time (It wont’ be Louis Vuitton but stillโ€ฆ) XO!

  6. Next time you won’t escape!! Have you seen the new St Martin’s campus by Kings Cross? Another huge, me, Julie and Dievca all having cream tea somewhere authentic…true joy! xxx

  7. Great pictures. Miss it. How fun to have a trip by yourself!
